Course Description

Some slight changes have been made to the start and finish locations to improve safety.  The start will be by the Shoulder of Mutton on Pound Street in Wendover.  The route heads up Ellesborough Road before joining the Ridgeway path towards Coombe Hill.

Having climbed up close to the monument, the route drops down a bridleway towards Ellesborough Golf Club and then swings back up again towards the monument.  This is the killer hill locally known as ‘The Front’.

The good news is that, once you reach the monument, it’s all downhill from there.  Firstly, across the common to pick up a path taking you down towards Wendover.  Then, before reaching the bottom, climb over a style, cross a field, over another style, along Bacombe Lane for approx 200m, over another style and then across a field to the finish, which is located at the far end of the field where it meets Ellesborough Road.

Under the race permit, the minimum age for the main race is 13 years old on the day.

If children younger than this want to run as part of a family or organised group, that's fine as long as they are accompanied by an adult who is responsible for them as they are not covered by the permit.
